Global Leadership. Seldom seen, often imitated? What makes a global leader, and what do they do? Is a global leader one who can get the far flung reaches of the multi-national to sign on to the vision coming out of HQ? Or are they leaders who understand differences, can bridge gaps and effectively communicate back to HQ what needs to change to make it work in Indonesia as it does in Ohio? Leadership programs famously move trainees from country to country, often assuming that exposure leads to understanding. But are frequent flyer miles really a good proxy for global leadership skills?
